Upload the receipts you download from your Restaurant Depot account, or phone photos of the long register tape, and every item comes back as a spreadsheet row: item code, description, quantity, unit price and line total, with tax, deposits and the payment split kept apart. Drop the file into food cost, price tracking or your bookkeeper's QuickBooks import without typing a single line.

The short answer
To convert Restaurant Depot receipts to Excel, log in to your Restaurant Depot account, open the Receipts tab and download the receipts you need (the last 60 days are ready immediately), or photograph the paper receipt, then upload the files to InvoiceExtraction and export XLSX or CSV. You get one row per item across every receipt, with the receipt date, store and total repeated on each row. Plans start at $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly.
The item code or UPC lands in a text column with leading zeros intact, so the same product lines up across a month of shopping trips and matches your recipe costing sheet.
Register tape abbreviates everything. The description comes across exactly as printed, and you can add a friendly name column once and reuse it with a lookup every month.
Quantity, unit price and line total are numeric cells, so sums, pivot tables and price history charts work the moment the file opens.
Sales tax, bottle or container deposits and bag fees sit on their own rows, so they stay out of food cost and your tax-exempt purchases are easy to check.
Receipt number, date, store and receipt total repeat on each line, so a combined file of 30 trips still sorts and reconciles to your card statement.
Line totals are checked against the receipt total. When a faded thermal line does not add up, it is flagged so you check one number instead of the whole receipt.
In your Restaurant Depot online account or mobile app, open Receipts and download the ones you need, or take a flat, well lit photo of the paper receipt before it fades.
Drop a week or a month of receipts into the uploader at once. Sysco, US Foods and local purveyor invoices can go in the same batch.
Anything that does not add up to the receipt total is highlighted, which on thermal paper is usually one faded price.
Download one combined Excel or CSV file with a row per item, or send the purchases to QuickBooks on the Plus plan.
A cash and carry receipt is the only record of what you paid for that week's oil, cheese and to-go containers, and thermal paper starts fading within months. Converting it the day you shop turns a curled strip in the glove box into rows you can sort, price check and hand to your accountant.
Most kitchens that shop at Restaurant Depot also take deliveries from a broadliner. The Sysco invoice converter and the US Foods invoice converter export into the same columns, so warehouse runs and truck deliveries end up in one food cost sheet.
Convert a receipt nowUpload the Restaurant Depot receipt PDF or a photo of the paper receipt and export XLSX or CSV. The extraction reads the header (store, date, receipt number, member number where printed) and every item line, then checks the lines against the receipt total before you download. There is no template to set up, and a month of receipts comes out as one file with a row per item.
A generic PDF to Excel tool copies the page layout instead. On a narrow receipt that means descriptions, quantities and prices collapse into one column, and tax and deposit lines mix in with the food. Here each item is its own row with numbers in number cells.
Log in to your Restaurant Depot account on the website or the mobile app and open the Receipts tab. According to Restaurant Depot, the last 60 days of receipts are available for immediate download, and longer date ranges take up to two minutes to prepare and stay available only for your current session, so download them before you log out. For a spending total rather than line detail, the My Account area also offers a purchase history letter.
Those downloads are what you upload here. If a trip is older than your saved files, request the longer range, download it in the same session and drop the files in as one batch.
Restaurant Depot is a cash and carry warehouse, so for in-store shopping the document you get is the register receipt, and copies of it are kept in the Receipts tab of your online account. For bookkeeping that receipt does the job of a vendor invoice: it shows the date, items, prices, tax and payment. Pickup and delivery orders placed through the app also show up in your account receipts. Either way, the file converts here the same way a distributor invoice does.
The receipt total tells you what you spent. The lines tell you where the money went and whether the warehouse run actually beat your delivery price.
Receipts and invoices look nothing alike, but the output columns here are the same, so you can compare a warehouse run with a truck delivery line for line.

Warehouse receipts are harder to key by hand than invoices because everything is abbreviated and printed on narrow, fading paper. These are the lines that go wrong, and how they come out here.
Yes. Export a CSV shaped for a QuickBooks expense or bill import, or use the QuickBooks export on the Plus plan, with vendor, date, receipt number and line amounts filled in and the original receipt kept for your records. Because a receipt is already paid, most bookkeepers post it as an expense against the card or bank account used at the register. The QuickBooks AP automation page explains the bill side for your delivered vendors.
Independent restaurant owners who shop the warehouse two or three times a week and want those purchases in the same food cost workbook as their deliveries. Food trucks, caterers and ghost kitchens that buy almost everything cash and carry. Bars and pizzerias tracking cheese, oil and paper goods. And bookkeepers who receive a shoebox of receipts from a restaurant client every month and need them categorized without retyping. If you are pricing a full back office suite just to capture these lines, read our MarginEdge alternative comparison first.
Pricing is by pages processed, not by location or by receipt. Starter is $49 a month ($24 a month billed yearly) and covers up to 500 pages a month on the most accurate model or 2,500 on the faster one, which is far more receipts than one restaurant collects. Plus is $149 a month ($74 billed yearly) and adds bulk upload of 50 files at a time, custom extraction templates, category normalization, QuickBooks export and three seats. See the pricing page for higher volume tiers.
Download the receipt from the Receipts tab of your Restaurant Depot account, or photograph the paper copy, upload it here and export XLSX or CSV. Each item becomes a row with item code, description, quantity, unit price and line total, and the receipt date and total repeat on every row.
Restaurant Depot makes the last 60 days available for immediate download. Longer ranges take up to two minutes to prepare and are only available during your current session, so download them before logging out and upload them here as one batch.
Yes, copies of your receipts are kept in your online Restaurant Depot account under Receipts, and the mobile app can download them too. Once you have the file, upload it here to get the lines in a spreadsheet.
Yes. Photos go through OCR first. A flat, evenly lit photo reads well even on long receipts; badly faded lines are checked against the receipt total and flagged if they do not add up, so nothing is silently guessed.
Yes. Receipts and distributor invoices are read without templates and exported into the same columns, so warehouse purchases and deliveries sit in one sheet for food cost and price comparison.
No. Your receipts are processed to produce your export and are not shared with other customers or with the stores or distributors whose documents you upload.
