Short answer. Tipalti Accounts Payable starts at $99 a month, and Tipalti Mass Payments starts at $249 a month, both with unlimited users. On top of that base fee you pay transaction pricing per invoice and per payment, and the fees vary by payment method and destination, so the real bill depends on how many suppliers you pay and how. Procurement, Expenses and Treasury are priced separately by quote. If you only need supplier invoices turned into line items in Excel or QuickBooks, a page-priced tool does that from $49 a month.

How much does Tipalti cost per month?

These are the figures on the Tipalti pricing page (checked November 2026). Tipalti does not publish a free tier, and the page does not list a setup fee, although it says more complex environments may need additional professional services.

Mass Payments$249 per monthUnlimited users, payee portal, core automationTransaction pricing for payments

The word "starts" matters. $99 is the platform floor, not what a business with a few hundred suppliers should budget.

What are Tipalti's fees per invoice and payment?

Tipalti lists "transaction pricing per invoice and payments" without dollar amounts, and says fees vary by payment method and destination. That is the line to press on in a quote. Ask for the price of a domestic ACH, a check, a card payment and an international payment separately, and ask whether the per-invoice charge applies to invoices you receive or only to ones you pay.

Third-party sites disagree on the numbers. Some aggregators list entry plans between $99 and $149 a month, and one lists a higher Advanced tier at $199. Treat those as unverified, since only the vendor page and a written quote are reliable.

Does Tipalti charge per user?

No. Tipalti states that it does not charge per-user or per-approver fees, which is a real difference from per-seat tools. A bookkeeper plus a handful of approvers does not multiply the base price. For a team that approves a lot of bills this can make Tipalti cheaper than seat-priced software even though the base fee is not small. Our BILL pricing breakdown shows the seat math on the other side.

What would Tipalti cost a small business in a year?

Only the base fee is public, so the table shows the floor and nothing else. Transaction pricing, add-on modules and any professional services come on top.

PlanBase fee per year
Accounts Payable$1,188
Mass Payments$2,988

What does Tipalti do, and what does it not do?

Tipalti is a payables and payments platform built for paying many suppliers or payees, including across borders. It collects invoices, routes approvals, handles supplier onboarding and tax forms through its portal, and sends the payments. That is the right shape when paying a large or international supplier base is the pain.

It is not built around the lines on a food, beverage or supply invoice. A restaurant, grocer or bar cares which item went up four percent, which pack size changed and which short shipment was never credited. Those answers live on invoice lines, and a payables platform treats the invoice as one document to approve and pay.

When is Tipalti worth it?

  • Worth it: many suppliers or payees, international payments, a need for supplier self-service onboarding, a controller who wants approvals and payments in one system.
  • More than you need: one bookkeeper who pays suppliers from the bank and just wants invoice lines in a spreadsheet or in QuickBooks.

How should you compare Tipalti quotes?

Write down your monthly numbers first: invoices received, payments sent, share paid by ACH, check, card and international transfer, and the number of entities. Ask each vendor to price that exact month, not a generic plan. Then add the modules you actually need, because Procurement or Expenses can change the total more than the base fee does.

Also ask what happens at renewal and whether volume tiers reset your transaction pricing. Payables tools are easy to start and slow to leave, so a quote that fixes unit prices for the contract term is worth more than a low first-year discount.

A cheaper way to get invoice lines

InvoiceExtraction reads supplier invoices (PDFs, emailed copies or phone photos) and returns every line as a spreadsheet row with item, pack, quantity, unit cost and extension. You pay for pages processed, not for suppliers, payments or locations. Starter is $49 a month ($24 a month billed yearly) for up to 500 pages on the most accurate model, and Plus is $149 a month ($74 billed yearly) with bulk upload of 50 files at a time, custom templates, QuickBooks export and three seats.

It does not pay your suppliers or run approvals, so it does not replace Tipalti for a team that needs those. It fits when you pay suppliers your usual way and want clean data first. The QuickBooks AP automation page covers the bill workflow, the restaurant invoice scanner covers supplier invoices, and the pricing page has the full plans. For other payables tools, see Stampli pricing and Ottimate pricing.

Once payments go out, the next job is checking them against the bank. If your statements arrive as PDFs, you can turn the PDF bank statement into a spreadsheet and match payments to invoices line by line.
